CLIMATE & CLEAN ENERGY EQUITY FUND MISSION
The Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund (Equity Fund) is building power to stop climate change and create an equitable clean energy future through a strategic multi-state initiative that is: investing in the leadership and organizing of diverse communities (Black and Indigenous people, people of color, and others bearing the brunt of climate change); engaging voters in these communities through nonpartisan civic engagement campaigns; and advancing climate and clean energy policy solutions that reflect the priorities of racial, economic, and environmental justice communities.
WORK WITH SEQUOIA
The Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund has used the grant from Sequoia to build the leadership, organizing, policy, communications capacity, and power of organizations working in communities of color through its Policy and Communications Accelerators, which aim to advance bold and equitable climate action at the state and federal levels.
The Equity Fund’s Policy Accelerator ensures that leaders from working-class communities and communities of color are prepared to drive policy by providing coaching, technical briefs, research, and resources tailored to their needs. The Communications Accelerator helps grantees develop capacity and strategies to communicate more effectively and at scale to win equitable climate and clean energy policies.
